Diversions due to city centre roadworks

7th Sep onwards

Due to road works in the city centre, buses will divert as follows:

🚌 Services from the West - All services that enter the city centre from Canton will travel along Neville Street & Fitzhamon Embankment. All services that enter the city via Cathedral Road will travel along Clare Street & Fitzhamon Embankment.

🚌 Diversions from the East - Services 11, 28/28A/28B, 52, 57/58 will run into the city centre via Station Terrace, lower Churchill Way (Fri/Sat night diversions) and will end Hayes Bridge Rd (11, 28/28A/28B) or Customhouse St (52, 57/58). Bus stops on Dumfries Place, Greyfriars Road, Kingsway, Westgate Street and St Mary Street will not be served by these services.

🚌 Baycar (6) - This service will travel as far as Wyndham Arcade and will not stop on Westgate Street or Kingsway.

Services not mentioned remain on normal routes.

Changes to Wyndham Arcade & new Wood Street bus stops

16th Sep onwards

⚠️ Two new bus stops on Wood Street (outside new HMRC tax office building) will be operational from Saturday 18 September, resulting in changes to bus stops for services 8 & 9 (towards Heath Hospital), X45 (towards St. Mellons), 92/93/94 & 95, as follows:

📅 from Saturday 18 September

🚌 Services 8 & 9 (towards Heath Hospital) & X45 (towards St. Mellons)
will call at new stop JB (nearest to Tudor Street) on Wood Street instead of Wyndham Arcade

🚌 Services 92/93/94 & 95
will SET DOWN only at new stop JA (nearest to Havelock Street) on Wood Street instead of Wyndham Arcade
Please continue to use the stop at Philharmonic for outbound 92/93/94/95 buses towards Penarth & Barry

Castle Street changes

7th Sep - 3rd Nov

➡️ Castle Street will operate in a one-way eastbound direction, i.e. from Westgate Street/Cardiff Bridge to Kingsway, on the following dates and times:
📅 20:00 to last bus Tuesday 7 & Wednesday 8 September
and then again
📅 from Sunday 12 September to Wednesday 3 November
20:00 to last bus every Sunday through to Wednesday evening (not Thursday to Saturday evenings)
🚌 Inbound buses on services 11, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28B, 35, 44/45, 49/50, 52 & 57/58 that would normally run along Castle Street will divert , resulting in the following inbound bus stops not being served: Kingsway GR, Castle Street, Quay Street & Royal Hotel.
🚌 Buses will call at the following stops:
🚏 Services 11 & 28B inbound: Queen Street Station & Hayes Bridge Road (outbound stops from Hayes Bridge Road as normal)
🚏 Services 21, 23, 25 & 27 inbound: Law Courts (North Road), Queen Street Station, Park Street (outbound stops as normal)
🚏 Services 35, 44/45 & 49/50 inbound: Queen Street Station, Wyndham Arcade then outbound stops from Bute Terrace as normal
🚏 Services 52 & 57/58 inbound: Queen Street Station, Wyndham Arcade, Customhouse Street JG, then outbound stops from Customhouse Street JG as normal

Lower Westgate Street closure (at Royal Hotel)

6th Sep - 30th Nov

🚧 Lower Westgate Street closure for road works
📅10:00 on Monday 6 September through to last bus on Tuesday 30 November
🚏 Probation Office and Royal Hotel bus stops on Westgate Street will be suspended. Please use the following alternative stops:
🚌 Service 4 - Park Street (outside BT building)
🚌 Services 44/45, 49/50, 52, 57/58 & X45 (X45 towards St. Mellons) - Wyndham Arcade
🚌 Services 92, 94 & 95 after 21:00 on Friday and Saturday evenings will start/end from Park Street (outside BT building)

🚌 Also, on the same dates, services 17/18 & 96/96A will enter the city centre via Neville Street, Despenser Gardens, Fitzhamon Embankment and Park Street, not serving inbound bus stops at St. David's Hospital or Westgate Street. Outbound journeys are not affected and will depart from their usual stops on Westgate Street.
Please note that all inbound journeys on services 13, 15, 25, 62, 63, 64 & 66 will continue to follow normal route over Cardiff Bridge and down Westgate Street.

Tudor Street one-way system

2nd Aug onwards

🚧 As part of the continuing Tudor Street and Riverside regeneration works, Tudor Street will become one-way in a westerly direction, outbound from Wood Street bridge towards Ninian Park Road, from 09:00 on Monday 2 August until further notice

🚌 Buses towards the city centre will run via Clare Street, Dispenser Street and Fitzhamon Embankment, resulting in the inbound stops at Beauchamp Street and Fitzhamon Embankment (on Tudor Street) being closed. Nearest alternative stops for buses towards the city centre will be Clare Road (One Stop Shop), Brunel Street (Ninian Park Road) or Dispenser Street

🚏 All buses leaving the city centre via Tudor Street one-way system on services 4, 7, 8, 9, 9A, 92, 93, 94, 95 and X45 will call at the very last bus stop shelter on Tudor Street, near the junction with Clare Road and Ninian Park Road

X59 Dumfries Place bus stops

8th Jul onwards

⚠️ Please note the revised stopping arrangements for service X59 (Cardiff East Park & Ride) at Dumfries Place:
🚏 Arrive at bus stop HV (at the side of Sainsburys)
🚏 Depart from stop HD (on opposite of road, outside pedestrian entrance to NCP car park)

Closure of Havelock Street and change of city centre terminus for routes 21, 23, 24 & 27

29th Apr - 30th Nov

During the morning of 30th April Havelock Street will be closed for constructions works. The current bus stop for routes 21, 23, 24 and 27 will move around the corner into Park Street.

These disruptions could affect future journeys

Cardiff Road closure, Dinas Powys

Today 21:00 - 26th Sep

🚧 Cardiff Road, Dinas Powys, will be closed between Eastbrook Station and Ty Verlon/Barry Docks Link Road for footbridge removal
📅 21:00 Saturday 25 September to 07:00 Sunday 26 September
🚌 Service 95 20:40 departure from Barry Island will follow normal route as far as Ty Verlon roundabout then divert via Sully Moors Road, South Road (through Sully), Lavernock Road and Redlands Road, returning to normal route at Merrie Harrier.
🚏 Bus stops along Cardiff Road, through Dinas Powys to Merrie Harrier will not be served.

Cardiff Bay 10k Run Diversions

26th Sep

⌚ 08:00 to 13:30

🚌 Service 6 (Baycar) will start/end from Mermaid Quay (southbound bus stop) and divert along Dumballs Road and James Street in both directions
🚏 Bus stops will not be servedalong Lloyd George Avenue, The Flourish and Wales Millennium Centre.
Please use the southbound stop at Mermaid Quay or stops along diversion route instead.

🚌 Service 8 will start and end from Mermaid Quay (northbound bus stop)
🚏 Bus stops on Bute Street, Hemmingway Road, Pierhead Street or Wales Millennium Centre. Please use the northbound stop at Mermaid Quay instead.

New Road closure

26th Sep

🚧 New Road will be closed for patching work, between Downton Rise and Brachdy Lane

🚌 Service 44 will divert in both directions via Newport Road and Wentloog Road

📅 19:00 Wednesday 29th – 07:00 Thursday 30th September
🚌 Services 1 & 2 will run via Dumballs Road between Corporation Road and the city centre and will not serve Mermaid Quay
🚌 Service 5 will run via Callaghan Square, Dumballs Roads and Adelaide Street between the city centre and the A4232 and will not serve Bute Street, The Flourish / Wales Millennium Centre or Mermaid Quay.
🚌 Service 8. Buses will start and end on Adelaide Street in Cardiff Bay and will not serve Mermaid Quay, The Flourish / Wales Millennium Centre, Pierhead Street or County Hall.
