Plan great days out this summer with Cardiff Bus. We're running services to great locations across Cardiff and the Vale this summer, so hop on board and enjoy top attractions in our area.
We're excited that our open top bus will run for journeys between Cardiff city centre, Cardiff Bay and Penarth Pier from the 10th June until 3 September then 9, 10, 16, 17 & 23 September. We've also increased the frequency on our baycar service (route 6) between the city centre and Cardiff Bay so you can enjoy sunny days by the waterfront.
There are plenty of other locations to discover and visit which are just a bus journey away. Take a look at some of our suggestions below.

daily from 10 June - 3 September
and 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 & 23 September
Breeze down to Penarth Pier on our open top* service from St Mary Street (Wyndham Arcade stop JE) in Cardiff city centre. Our summer bus stops outside Penarth Pier Pavilion so you can enjoy fish and chips or an ice cream on the pier, or visit one of the restaurants on the esplanade. Make the most of your time in Penarth by taking a stroll along the promenade or wander up the hill to discover the tranquility of the flower gardens of Alexandra Park and Windsor Gardens.
Other places of interest along the route:
Cardiff Bay - You can also alight outside the Wales Millennium Centre or Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay and discover great cafés and restaurants, the science discovery centre - Techniquest, the Red Dragon Centre, the Senedd or the Wales Millennium Centre itself.
Penarth town centre - wander along Windsor Road for independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Often referred to as ‘The Garden by the Sea,’ Penarth is perfect for nature lovers, so why not explore the flower gardens and picturesque parks across the town as well?
