Travel Advice
If you're heading to see Foo Fighters in Cardiff, our services will be running throughout the day and into the evening to help you have the best time.
We're expecting our network to be busier than usual and so we'll have extra capacity in place, in particular with larger buses planned for the last trip of the day for the busiest services. Many city centre roads will be closed in preparation for the event, meaning although we'll get as close as we can to the usual stops, you may need to catch your bus at a different location - for a full summary visit our Principality Stadium Events page or check individual timetables (make sure to set the date forward to the 25th!).
Traffic on event days is always heavy and unpredictable, so although we're doing our best to avoid bottlenecks and keep things as punctual as possible, please take this into consideration and allow extra time for your journey. We'll have extra staff in the city centre to help keep things moving, so look out for our supervisors in the orange hi-vis vests if you need a hand.
Here's some tips to help you make the most of the day...
If you're looking to take in some local food & drink ahead of the gig, you can find a great selection of pubs, bars & restaurants in the city centre, but if you're looking for somewhere quieter then on sunny days like these Cardiff Bay is the place to be! It's less than a 10 minute ride from the city centre on the Baycar, or a scenic 20 minute ride on the open top Skycar (special fares apply) which goes into the heart of the bay, including to the trendy Tiger Yard.
On the Cardiff Bus app, you can also use our journey planner and see our buses in real time, and you can buy your tickets in advance so all you need to do on the day is activate the tickets as you're about to hop on board. We offer discounted Family and Group tickets if you're travelling together, and our Skycar tickets are valid on all Cardiff Bus services in Cardiff and Penarth so offer great value to add in an open top trip to your visit to the city.
There's a whole host of wonderful attractions to visit and experiences to try within the city centre, and if you're thinking you'll stick around this could be a great chance to visit the. Check out our things to do pages for some good options, with many connected brilliantly by our open top Skycar (special fares apply) including the free to enter National Museum, the historic Cardiff Castle, the artsy Norwegian Church and the iconic Wales Millennium Centre. Unlimited travel on the Skycar, and any Cardiff Bus service in Cardiff and Penarth costs as low as £5 per adult, £3.30 per child, or £16 for a group of up to 5, making a great value addition to your visit to the city.
