Service Levels

We'll still be running over the bank holidays, but don't forget there's a service change and revised fares commencing Sunday 31st March, so please check your timetables before you travel. We'll still be offering great value unlimited travel family tickets (£10 in Cardiff, £9 in Barry or £14 for the full network) and group tickets (£16 in Cardiff) so you can be sure of a day out on the buses at a competitive price, please check on the fares info for ticket boundaries and validities. There's also a new term time only School Run ticket, offering a great discount to anyone taking the kids to school, launching from the 8th April.

Cardiff Castle

One of Wales' leading heritage attractions, with a story 2000 years in the making, Cardiff Castle is a historic gem at the heart of the city centre. There's lots to see and do, with a wide variety of attractions and exhibitions meaning there's something for everyone.

How to get there? This iconic Cardiff sight is easy to get to, a short walk from any route that serves the city centre. 

Cardiff Bay

A great spot for a sunny day, with shopping, leisure, and the Wetlands nature reserve & barrage making for a great walk. Between the Millenium Centre, Norwegian Church, Pierhead Building and Senedd there's some great sights to see alongside the beautiful views across the water. Our routes criss-cross the bay and run frequently to the city centre, meaning you can opt for exploring further afield on foot because there's always a connection nearby.

Mermaid Quay will be having a Roarsome Dinosaur takeover, with dino trails, colouring competitions and the chance to meet a pack of lifelike dinosaurs!

How to get there? Catch the 6 from the city centre or 1, 2 or 8 from elsewhere to get to the heart of the bay, with Mermaid Quay and the Wales Millenium Centre. Catch the 9 to explore the sports village or retail options. Catch the 92, 93 or 94 to explore Penarth, ideal for a barrage walk or to see the views from the headland.

Cosmeston Lakes Country Park 

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life for some peace and quiet in over 100 hectares of rare & diverse animal and plant species. Or tour the Medieval Village, faithfully restored to represent how the park would have been used in 1350 AD. 

How to get there? Around half an hour from the city centre on the 94 or a short ride from Penarth and Barry.

St David's & City Shopping

You want it - they've got it! St David's is the largest shopping centre in the city centre, and has a huge variety of stores to browse, as well as a mouthwatering selection of food & drink options. All located centrally near Cardiff Market and the arcades full of independant traders ever shopaholic is sure to find something to tickle their fancy.

How to get there? Wherever you want to shop, it's a short walk from any route that serves the city centre. 

Techniquest

Over 100 hands on exhibits covering a wide range of topics, with a range of events and shows to help bring science and engineering alive! There's something for all ages, and it's just around the corner from Mermaid Quay, so you can stop off for a spot of food and drink while you're there.

How to get there? Catch the 6 from the city centre to the Millenium Centre or 1, 2 or 8 from elsewhere to get to Mermaid Quay, Techniquest is a short walk around the corner from both stops.

Tredegar Park & House

This 17th Century red brick mansion stands testament to the dark arts and flamboyant history that's unfolded within. With walled gardens, formal lawns, and a special mineral garden in the orangery this property has all the usual National Trust charm alongside the fascinating tales inside the house. 

How to get there? Around 40 minutes from the city centre on service 30.

St Fagans

NEW! From Tuesday 3rd April on Service 32

One of the world's leading open air museums, and the most visited heritage attraction in Wales, St Fagans transports you back in time to be immersed in the history and culture of Welsh life. From St Teilo's Church, the earliest parts of which date back nearly 1000 years, to Rhyd-y-car Terrace demonstrating typical valleys houses all from 1805 through to 1985 you're sure to see something to surprise you, and for many bring back memories!

How to get there? Service 32 launches on the 2nd of April, and will take you right to the entrance.

Cefn Onn Country Park

NEW! From Tuesday 3rd April on Service 29

A grade 2 listed historic park, perfect for finding a bit of peace and nature at the edge of the city. There's both natural woodland and gardens laid out to complement the tumbling streams and winding paths, as well as being the perfect gateway to walks further up Caerphilly Mountain.

How to get there? Service 29 extends on the 2nd of April, and stops just outside by Lisvane & Thornhill Station.

Penarth Pier & Esplanade

Iconic seaside Victoriana! A walk along the beautiful pier or colourful esplanade, stopping for fish & chips or an ice cream, and strolling back in to Penarth Town through Alexandra Park, a traditional day out that's been enjoyed for generations. 

How to get there? Catch the 92, 93 or 94 to explore Penarth town, a short walk down the Dolly Steps or Beach Road to the Esplanade. Or, from 2nd of April the 305 stops at the pier.
