Pride Cymru 2024 at Cardiff Castle

⚠️ UPDATE 22/06/2024 15:20 - Castle Street has reopened and so buses on routes 11, 30, 44/45, 49/50, 52 and 57/58 will be able to resume their usual route into the city centre passing the Castle until approximately 21:30. This may change at any moment if the road closure needs to be reinstated due to crowd control measures. All of these services will continue to pick up as shown on today's timetables in addition to arriving via the Castle.
Pride Cymru 2024 returns to Cardiff Castle on Saturday 22nd June. The event means a series of road closures will in place to allow the parade to pass that will require diversions to bus routes within the city centre and changes to bus stops.
Bus Route Changes and Amendments to Stop Served
Routes 1, 2, 6 and 305 from 11:00 until 13:30 will start and end at Callaghan Square (Eversheds)
Routes 4, 25 (Outward), 32, 62/63, 92/93/94, 95 and 96 from first bus until 13:00 will start Park Street (Rear of HMRC Building). This means their stops on Westgate Street and Cardiff Bridge (routes 25, 32 and 62/63) will not be served during these times.
Route 8 departing the city centre at 1145 will start from Central Square, Wood Street JR outside BBC Wales HQ and not Canal Street.
Route 9 towards UHW Heath Hospital between 11:00 and 13:30 will divert via Penarth Road, Callaghan Square and Bute Street Bridge instead of Clare Road, Tudor Street, Wood Street and St. Mary Street. This means customers boarding in the city centre should use Bute Terrace stop JK or Churchill Way stop HP between 11:00 and 13:30 (Note after 21:00 hours below).
Note that from 21:00 the usual closure of lower St. Mary Street will take place – usual diversions apply.
Route 9 towards Sports Village from first bus until 11:00 and then 13:30-21:00 will divert via Station Terrace (Queen Street Station) and Bute Terrace instead of Dumfries Place, Greyfriars Road or Westgate Street. During these times please use stops at Station Terrace (Outside Cardiff Queen Street Station) or Central Square, Wood Street JR outside BBC Wales HQ.
Between 11:00 and 13:30 a further diversion will apply where buses will not be able to serve Central Square/Wood Street and instead will use Callaghan Square and Penarth Road. During these times please use Bute Terrace (Outside Raddison Blu).
Note that from 21:00 the usual closure of lower St. Mary Street will take place – usual diversions apply.
Routes 11, 30, 44/45, 49/50, 52 and 57/58 from 11:00 until 13:30 will start and end at Bute Terrace stop JK. Before 11:00 and after 13:30 journeys will start from their usual city centre terminal point.
Journeys to the city centre ALL DAY will use Station Terrace, lower Churchill Way and Bute Terrace instead of Dumfries place, Greyfriars Road, Kingsway and Westgate Street.
Also note that from 21:00 the usual closure of lower St. Mary Street will take place – usual diversions apply.
Routes 13, 17/18, 61 from first bus until 13:00 will start and end at Fitzhamon Embankment. This means their stops on Westgate Street and Cardiff Bridge will not be served during these times.
Routes 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 35 and 136 will start and end at Greyfriars Road ALL DAY.
Due to the extent of the road closures it will not possible for the Skycar service to operate on this day.
