Local single fares

Our local fare zones are designed for short single journeys, and are available to purchase on the bus in three areas within Cardiff

  • the city centre
  • Ely
  • Pontprennau, Pentwyn and Llanedeyrn

Customers can make a single journey i.e. on one bus, wholly within the zones below for:

Children / MTP £1.40

Inner-city fare zone

This area will cover the city centre and will be available from Canton (Victoria Park) / The Ninian / Sophia Gardens in the west, to Penlan Library or Newport Road / City Road in the east, and Corbett Road / Minister Street in the north to Wynnstay Close / Durham Street / South Loudon Place / Magretion Place in the south.

Children / MTP £1.40

This means you will be able to travel from Albany Road to the city centre or Victoria Park to the city centre for £1.90 Adult, saving 50p compared to our ordinary single tickets.

Ely local fares

Ely local fare zone
If you travel within Ely, you can save money by buying our local single fare.  Save 50p compared to buying single tickets when you travel within the zone boundaries above. 

Ely local fare for travel between Ely Legion / Colin Way and Culverhouse Cross on routes 13, 15, 17, 18, 96 and 96A.

Cheaper single tickets for local journeys within Pontprennau / Pentwyn / Llanedeyrn.

Pontprennau / Pentwyn / Llanedeyrn local fare for travel between The Maelfa (Services 57/58), Ael-Y-Bryn (Services 51/53), Ty Cerrig (Services 51/53), Pentwyn Interchange (Service 59) and Pontprennau Asda.
