Fare and zone changes FAQ

Fare and zone changes FAQ

What are the new fare zones?
Cardiff to go – for travel within Cardiff (as far as Cardiff Garden Centre in St Mellons and B&Q at Culverhouse Cross), Penarth and Llandough

Barry – for travel within Barry, Wenvoe, Sully, Cosmeston and Dinas Powys

Plus – for travel across our network and between fare zones

Will my ticket still work after the 9th April?
Tickets will still work, however, they will only work in the new fare zones.  If you’re travelling between Wenvoe, Dinas Powys, Sully or Cosmeston and Cardiff your Cardiff ticket will no longer work.  Please get in touch with our Customer Service team on 029 2066 6444 or email [email protected] if you have an annual ticket or if you’re a direct debit customer.

Which ticket will I need to travel to Newport?
To travel between Cardiff and Newport you’ll need a ‘plus’ ticket.  Special single fares are available along service 30’s route.  Click here to view all service 30 fares.

Which ticket will I need to travel to and from Wenvoe, Sully or Dinas Powys?
If you’re travelling between Wenvoe, Sully or Dinas Powys and Cardiff you’ll need a ‘plus’ ticket.

If you’re travelling between Wenvoe, Sully or Dinas Powys and Barry you’ll need a Barry ticket.

What should I do if I’m affected by the boundary change?
If you’ve purchased tickets and are affected by the boundary change, please get in touch with our Customer Service team on 029 2066 6444 or email [email protected].

I can no longer use my tickets.  What should I do?
If you can’t use your tickets because of the changes to boundaries, please get in touch with our Customer Service team on 029 2066 6444 or email [email protected].

What are the changes to direct debits?
There will be an increase in price for direct debit customers, and they will also be affected by zone boundary changes.  Passes will not work outside of the fare zones selected, so those who pay for the Cardiff to go direct debit will not be able to use their passes in Sully, Dinas Powys, Wenvoe or Cosmeston.

If you’re a direct debit customer and affected by the changes to zone boundaries, please get in touch with our Customer Service team on 029 2066 6444 or email [email protected].
