Bus Times for Runners & Spectators

We've got buses serving all across the city and into the Vale of Glamorgan that are perfect to get you to the race, as well as plenty to help spectators make the most of seeing the race go by.

Service 6 will take you directly to Cardiff Bay, so you can head down to Roald Dahl Plass and watch the runners pass the iconic Wales Millennium Centre, as well as visit a great selection of shops and places to eat & drink. Alternatively,

Service 28 will take you to Rhydypenau Crossroads, a short walk away from the leafy Roath Park where you can watch the runners loop the lake, or stop in for lunch or a coffee (or something stronger!) at the local pubs & cafes.

If you'd like more of a walk service 52 skirts along the edge of the race, ideal for walking through Pen-Y-Lan to watch the race pass vibrant Albany Road, or Roath Park - but keep in mind due to the road closures you'll have to head out of the city centre to Newport Road to catch it during the race.

Finally, if you're staying to explore the city after the race, we've picked out some of our favourite things to do to help inspire you and get the best value out of your bus ticket.

Travel Advice

As a result of Principality Cardiff Half Marathon, a significant number of roads will be closed on Sunday 6th October.

This will result in diversions for some services, and most being unable to serve their usual stops within the city centre. The timetables and journey planner on our website and app have been updated to show the diversions and revised bus stops.

Details below outline the diversions in use during the race, but please note due to other event facilities in the city centre requiring road closures, before the race begins routes will be unable to serve upper Westgate Street or Castle Street, so some additional diversions will be in place.

Please note that all times below are approximate and subject to change on the day as the closing and opening of roads is out of our hands. Diversions below include the names of well known roads to keep them as simple as possible to understand, check the timetable pages on our website and app to see which exact stops each route will serve across the city.
