VOICES OF THE RED WALL

FREE / St Fagans National Museum of History / Ends 17 April 

Supporters of our national football teams are called The Red Wall. Dressed in their bucket hats and replica shirts, belting out chants from the stands, they’re often described as the twelfth player on the pitch.

To celebrate Cymru qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, this exhibition shines a spotlight on some of the people and communities of The Red Wall. Fashion, music, identities and politics are all here, cemented together by a sense of belonging. This is their story – your story – the bricks of The Red Wall. It’s a fan-led experience like no other.

MONTGOMERY BONBON: MUSEUM MYSTERY TRAIL

FREE / Museum of Cardiff / 18 – 26 February

Go undercover and test your detective skills at Museum of Cardiff as part of the national Montgomery Bonbon: Museum Mystery Trail, organised by Kids in Museums and Walker Books. The trail celebrates the release of new children’s book Montgomery Bonbon: Murder at the Museum written by comedian Alasdair Beckett-King and illustrated by Claire Powell. Grab an activity sheet, solve puzzles and have fun with your family this half term.

SPACE CLUB

FREE / Mermaid Quay

Take a journey around the Solar System this February Half Term at Mermaid Quay! This half term visitors will be able to participate in a trail where participants have the chance to win a £50 voucher for Hub Box Cardiff Bay.

There will also be a colouring in competition running where two £10 Cadwaladers gift cards are up for grabs. Alongside this there are three days of activity to look forward to!

JUMP RIGHT IN

BUZZ Open Jump is the core session that gives you access to the entire park facilities for an hour of healthy, active, fun.  The giant inflatable course is jam packed with fun activities and challenges.

From a 6m drop slide to a 50m obstacle course and much much more. The sheer size of this thing will take your breath away. Buzz are no longer just a trampoline park – they are much, much more!

PLANETARIUM SHOWS

Live science shows about Bubbles and Blasts, Star Tours in the super-snug 360° Planetarium and hands-on Rainbow Reactions workshops in the newly refurbished KLA Lab – there’s a lot going on at Techniquest this February half-term.

On top of all that, there are 100+ interactive exhibits, mind-boggling machines and perplexing puzzles spread across two floors to keep curious minds busy at Cardiff Bay’s iconic Science Discovery Centre.

Feel the force of a hurricane, the tremor of an earthquake or try your hand at a virtual operation and bring science to life at the touch of your hand!

ADVENTURE GOLF

With two, indoor, 18-hole mini golf courses – there’s plenty to keep your little explorers entertained. Tackle the Tropical Trail together and explore our Mystic Wood or brave the ruins of the Ancient Explorer.

GOING BATTY IN BUTE PARK

Bute Park / 21 February / As part of Cardiff Science Festival

What do we know about bats? What do they eat? How do they move? Where do they live? Enjoy some Batty art and craft activities.

Sessions at 10am, 12noon and 2pm (60 minutes). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for children aged 5 years+.

Want to try out CIWW’s new activity? The 90 minute Taster Sessions are great for parents and kids to learn together, the flat water pool is a fun and safe environment to understand the basics of Canoeing and Kayaking.
